Lloyd D. Moore

Lloyd D. Moore, 78, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Sunday October 21, 2018 in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH.

He was born July 8, 1940 in Glen Easton, WV, a son of the late Franklin D. and Violet G. (Lemmon) Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Dorothy Kuhn, Hazel Reynolds, Olive Taylor, Marvell Wellman, Merle Goodman, Frances Kerns and Dolly Wood.

Lloyd retired in 2003 after 39 years in the blast furnace at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of Kolmont Community Church. He was also a tree trimmer for Karl Kuemmerling and he also worked out on his own.

Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years, Gwen (Kendle) Moore, whom he married March 7, 1969; a son, Lloyd A. Moore of Brilliant, OH; two daughters, Pamela (Mark) Lang of Elyria, OH and Marcy Jo (Phil) Hopkins of New London, OH; a brother, Dale (Carolyn) Moore of Russellville, AL; a sister, Mary (Leroy) Burkhart of Alliance, OH; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Herb Fletcher and Pastor Jack Ernest, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
