William "Bill" Pratt

Bill Pratt, 83, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Monday April 9, 2018 at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV.

He was born August 19, 1935 in Smithfield, OH, the son of the late Syril and Maude (Pasco) Pratt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Louda) Pratt on July 8, 2014; a brother, Thomas Pratt; and three sisters, Ruth Pratt, Minnie Bell Dillon and Audrey Davenport. 

Bill retired out of Laborers Local 809 in Steubenville. He was a member of the Brilliant Methodist Church and enjoyed working in his garden and flower beds. He was well known in the area for selling vegetables out of his home.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (John “Snuffy”) McKeegan of Tiltonsville, OH; a step-son, John Mozingo of Dillonvale, OH; three step daughters, Patty (Lee) Hayman of Dillonvale, OH, Jackie (Ed) Wilson of Green Castle, PA and Phyllis (Paul) Ryan of Mingo Junction, OH; a brother, Robert (Roberta) Pratt of Hopedale, OH; five grandchildren, Brian (Billie Jo) Malechowski, Joey (Kim) Malechowski, Courtney (Mike) Orr, Jamie Ryan and Jason Ryan; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant on Friday from 3-8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral services at Noon with Rev. Marvin Schooler, officiating. Private interment at New Alexandria Cemetery.
