Robert M. 'Bud' Hyndman

Robert M. “Bud” Hyndman, 84, of Mingo Junction (Tarr Hill), Ohio, passed away Monday April 25, 2016, at the Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio.
 
He was born October 7, 1931 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a son of the late William and Mary E. (Waugh) Hyndman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Ruth Carson.
 
Bud retired from AEP Ohio Power Company, where he was a lineman. After his retirement he worked at Auto Zone for 11 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy; was a member of the Brilliant Methodist Church; and enjoyed bowling.
 
He was a very active member of the Buckeye Ruritan Club in New Alexandria, Ohio, with 35 years of community service. He was District Governor (1995); Assistant Zone Governor (1998, 2005); Zone Governor (1999); National Director (2000-2002); and is currently serving as Zone Governor. He was also a past director of Ruritan International.
 
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Jo Ann (Degenhardt) Hyndman, whom he married on October 25, 1953; a daughter, Sherry Hyndman Morris of Mingo Junction, OH; a grandson, Todd (Amanda) Morris of Mingo Junction, Ohio; three great-grandsons, Isaac, Conner and Carter Morris; a brother, Jim Hyndman of New Alexandria, Ohio; and a sister, Mary Catherine (Paul) Ramsey of Louisville, Ohio.
 
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Carson, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Squad.
