Nial M. Pashke, Sr.

Nial M. Pashke, Sr., 80, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Saturday December 31, 2016 at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born May 23, 1936 in Lily, PA a son of the late Raymond L. and Matilda (Smith) Pashke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy (Canestraro) Pashke on June 5, 2016; five brothers, Raymond, Paul and Kevin Pashke and two infant brothers; and four sisters, Kathryn Ann Sohovich, Mary Louise Pashke, Carol Ann Snyder and an infant sister.

Nial retired in 1997 as a crane operator for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1955 and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church; the Mingo Knights of Columbus Council #4361; the Disabled American Veterans; and the United Steelworkers Union.

Surviving are four children, Nial M. (Pamela) Pashke, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, Gloria Pashke of Atlanta, GA, Donna (Anthony) Notarantonio of Manassas, VA, and John Pashke of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, Madison Pashke, Ashlyn Mallison, Amanda (Matt) Ntiros, Allison Notarantonio and Anthony Notarantonio; a brother, Anthony (Valerie) Pashke of Weirton, WV; and two sisters, Fernand Cox of Wooster, OH and June (Larry) Nicholson of Elizabeth City, NC.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction. On Wednesday there will be viewing at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.
