Jo Ann Hyndman

Jo Ann Hyndman, 81, of Mingo Junction (Tarr Hill), OH passed away Monday May 8, 2017 at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.

She was born June 10, 1935 in Brilliant, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Gladys “Alberta” (Himes) Cecil; her husband, Robert M. “Bud” Hyndman on April 25, 2016; and a sister, Bonnie Polen.

Jo Ann was a homemaker and she enjoyed her grandson and great-grandsons. She was a member of the Brilliant Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Circle of the church. She was also very active in the Buckeye Ruritan Club in New Alexandria, OH. She had 35 years of community service in the club and was the assistant zone governor in 2002 and the zone governor in 2003 and 2004.

Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Hyndman Morris of Mingo Junction, OH; a grandson, Todd (Amanda) Morris of Mingo Junction, Ohio; three great-grandsons, Isaac, Conner and Carter Morris; a brother, Richard (Petey) Cecil of Rayland, OH; a brother-in-law, William Polen of Dillonvale, OH; two nephews, Scott (Michelle) Polen and Craig Polen; and a niece, Yolanda “Yo” (Jeff) Cecil-Long.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where her funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Bob Carson, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
