Donna L. Karas

Donna Karas, 80, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Weirton Medical Center.

She was born July 23, 1935 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Michael and Edith (Cascioli) Lesnansky. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eli Karas in 1992; an infant son; two brothers, Joseph and Michael Lesnansky; and a sister, Michaelene Palkovic.

Donna graduated from Mingo High School in 1953 and Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. She worked as a registered nurse at Weirton Medical Center, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Surviving are three sons, David (Melissa) Karas of Wintersville, Ohio, Drew Karas and Douglas (Jennifer) Karas, both of Mingo Junction, Ohio; five grandchildren, Lauren, Emilee, Drew, Megan and Sydney Karas; a sister, Kathy (Tom) Flippo of Mingo Junction, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Faith Lesnansky of Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

In following with Donna’s request there will be no viewing. Family and friends will be received on Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
