Dennis L. "Denny" Bradley

Dennis L. Bradley, 72, of Avon Lake, Ohio, passed away after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness on Saturday, May 14, 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family in his own home when he left to meet the Lord.

Denny was born and raised in New Alexandria, Ohio. He proudly served his country in The United States Air Force. He started his career as a pipefitter while living in Jefferson county and was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters local 490 out of Steubenville. Lucky for Denny, the love of his life lived in Brilliant, Ohio. He married Donna (Vadas) 46 years ago. After they moved north to Avon Lake he continued with his trade as a pipefitter for The Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 2008. Not one to stay home he continued to work after retirement as a driving instructor for Heights Driving School.

Dennis enjoyed volunteering for Lorain County Meals on Wheels. He attended Avon Lake Presbyterian Church, was a member of Masonic Lodge #182 (Smithfield, OH), and was very proud of building and operating Bradley's Lil' Store in New Alexandria for six and a half years. He was an avid fisherman and really enjoyed his time on the water, but what was most important to Denny was his loving family.

He is survived by his devoted wife Donna and their two loving daughters, Tammy Bradley and Janice (Marc) Lapina; four grandchildren, Amber and Ashley Bradley and Makaylee and Dominick Lapina; his dear mother Mrs. Martha L. (Melching) Bradley; and his six siblings, Karen Hunt, Jay (Alice) Bradley, Carol (Andy) Holzapfel, Galen (Barbara) Bradley, Phyllis (Bill)  Martin and Margaret (Ralph) Nickoson.

He was preceded in death by his father, H. John Bradley; his brother-in-law Lee Hunt; and his father-in-law, Frank Vadas.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with nephews, Bill and Lee Paul Hunt, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
