Bonnivere Olivia "Bonny" Weldon

Bonnivere Olivia “Bonny” Weldon, 88, of Brilliant, Ohio, was called home by her heavenly father Jesus Christ on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers.

She was born November 22, 1927 in Brilliant, Ohio, a daughter of the late Newton and Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Liston) Mayle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle “Doe” Russell Weldon; two brothers, Perry “Keith” Mayle and Newton Royce “Sonny” Mayle; and a sister, Nancy Blankenship.

Bonny was a homemaker and formerly the owner of Weldon Trucking in Mingo Junction, which she ran alongside her husband Doe. She was a member of the Brilliant Christian Church, where she sang in the choir and was in womens fellowship. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Labelle Chapter #414 in Steubenville and the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America out of Columbus, Ohio. Bonny enjoyed wintering in Florida, and will always be remembered for her love of people, kind words, beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

Bonny had been a resident of Gables Care Center, where she was well known and loved. They took such wonderful care of her. To all of her caregivers, aides and doctors the family says thank you for being so kind to our mother.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Weldon and her companion Lawrence Sterling of Brilliant, Ohio; two sons, Larry (Susan) Weldon of Mingo Junction, OH and Gary (Tina) Weldon of Rayland, Ohio; a brother, Sherley “Sam” (Angie) Mayle of Mingo Junction, OH; a  sister, Brenda Board of Brilliant, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Ty (Paige) Hill, Ben Hill, Ashley Hill, Lori (Don) Weldon-Lucas, Jamie Weldon, Russ (Christina) Weldon and Lisa Weldon; many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, and also on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with, Dr. Marc R. Tinstman, Minister officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, Ohio.
